Practice Focus

Jared Otterstrom has a practice focused in U.S. intellectual property law, particularly in patent prosecution. His practice centers on computer technology including software and hardware. Jared’s technical background encompasses material science and optics including research in electrical properties of thin film insulators. His understanding of physics gives him the tools needed to understand a wide range of technologies. Jared has also researched topics in international patent law such as moral utility and the doctrine of equivalents for many countries including India, Germany, the UK and Japan.

Notable Experience

Jared’s professional experience includes meeting with inventors for information disclosures as well as drafting and prosecuting utility patent applications. He has also been involved in NASA sponsored research investigating the properties of materials used in spacecraft which included testing sample materials using the photoelectric effect. Jared also has experience in the classroom teaching laboratory physics to undergraduate students. Before working for Wagner Blecher, he completed internships in the area of landlord tenant law.
